The Maryland Criminal Defense Attorneys’ Association (MCDAA) is proud to recognize outstanding achievement, service, and leadership in the defense community through the new Excellence in Criminal Defense Awards. Join us on June 18, 2026 at Live! Casino & Hotel at Arundel Mills in Hanover, as we honor and celebrate individuals whose dedication advances the rights of the accused, strengthens the defense bar, and upholds the highest standards of justice.

This year’s celebration will be especially meaningful as MCDAA presents the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award to Leonard R. Stamm. This honor recognizes an attorney whose career reflects a lifelong dedication to the defense of the accused, outstanding service to the criminal defense bar, and significant contributions to justice in Maryland.

The evening will also feature five awards recognizing exceptional individual achievement across the defense community, honoring leaders whose work reflects the highest standards of advocacy, professionalism, and service to the criminal defense bar.

         Together, we will celebrate the advocates who inspire our profession, the colleagues who strengthen our community, and a shared commitment to protecting the rights and principles at the heart of our justice system. We hope you will be apart of this special evening!
